Favourite Albums and Gigs 2023

For my own records more than anything. But certainly a vintage year – as indeed most years are now for me, I follow so many wonderful musicians.

I cannot separate my top 2 so am mot attempting to! I have also cheated a bit with Margo Price but the albums are conceived as a sequence. I am sure Jaime Wyatt would be on the list but I just haven’t got round to listening to it yet.

10 Brigid O’Neill The Truth and Other Stories

GIGS

This is much easier. I went to many great gigs in 2023 but by a distance, my favourite/s were the 3 times I saw the amazing Miko Marks – as I said after seeing her at The Long Road there is no one alive I would rather see. Really privileged to have seen her three times and every performance I was just yards away so her unbelievable energy radiated.
